glass shower door hinge question
How much would it cost to install a basic glass shower door?
The shower opening is 33-1/2" wide and I want a basic glass hinged door. Nothing fancy. How much should the installation cost?
I recently contacted a glass company, with that same question, and they told me between $400-$600, this is on the east coast.
Contact a glass company in your area for a more accurate estimate.
How do you make one of those thick glass enclosed shower stalls with hinged door?
I don’t see anything but kits, with plastic sides and such…I want an enclosure with tile walls and a shower pan, with a pebble in grout shower floor…
how do I get the glass, do you have to go to a glass store or do they sell kits?
You’ll need to go to a glass supplier for this one.Do I need a shower door?
I’m about to install a shower in a 1400 x 900mm enclosure, with the shower mounted on one of the shorter sides. I’d planned to use a stud wall or glass screen to create a ‘walk in’ effect, as I also intend to sink the shower tray into the floor (there is space for the outflow). However, I guess I’d have to leave at least a 600mm gap to walk in, only leaving 800mm of screen. Would this be enough to stop any significant amount of water splashing out on the bathroom floor (mixer shower on a pressurised system)? Or would I be better off with a more conventional hinged door & screen kit? (sorry about the French measurements but that’s what all the stuff seems to come in)
You’ll need something to stop the water. The water may not be directed at the opening but the water splashing off you will end up all over the place.
Here is a real good tile forum that’ll help you construct your shower:
